Decades of Innovation in Food Display Solutions

For retail and grab-and-go outlets, the desire to display hot and cold foods in a professional, efficient, eye-catching and organised fashion is high, but several factors have long proved to be a challenge when positioning connected display units together. Operators have long questioned how they can display hot and cold food together without the resultant heat transfer from hot to cold, or the condensation that can occur from two cold units being placed side by side. By their very nature, hot display units produce heat, while cold display units work to keep the core temperature down – a contrasting dynamic that has challenged operators for years, especially in compact high street and retail sites or for busy transport hubs where space is very much of a premium.

Committed to serving our customers around the globe, Fri-Jado has been at the forefront of innovation and development in both hot and cold food display solutions for more than eight decades. Pioneering technology, including our Hot Blanket and Cold Booster technology, we’ve made it our mission not only to make food irresistible, but also to deliver the best solutions for our customers, so in turn, they can offer food and drink of the highest quality to their customers.

Introducing Multiplex: A Smarter Way to Connect Displays

The solution to efficiently being able to position two or more units together, whether hot and cold or multiple cold appliances, is complex, but following a sustained research and development process, we’re proud of our latest innovation – Multiplex, the ultimate solution to effective food display across multiple units at different temperatures.

Side-by-Side Glass is a triple-glazed kit that is designed to seamlessly connect multiple MCC units into one integrated suite. The unique design has been created to achieve unobstructed visibility for the consumer, while simultaneously preventing condensation build-up between two cold units or minimising temperature transfer between hot and cold – ensuring the technology continues to deliver the precise temperature and humidity conditions demanded by the operator.

Replacing two separate panes with one triple-glass barrier, the Multiplex kit is shown to deliver greater energy efficiency, simplify cleaning, improve hygiene and enhance visual appeal with a seamless display front.

Designed for Compact, High-Performance Retail Spaces

For compact sites and those looking to maximise retail space, the kit achieves a smaller footprint when compared to two units without the kit and thanks to compatibility across the MCC range and a simple install, it can be implemented quickly and deliver results instantly.

Built for Flexible Front-of-House Configurations

“Fri-Jado is a company that’s committed to innovation and Multiplex is testament to this. Designed to overcome the challenge of condensation build-up or heat transfer when positioning two or more units at different temperatures together in a suite, the kit has been engineered to deliver savings, reduce waste and enhance visual appeal and is ideally suited for compact sites. Fully flexible, the kit can be utilised across our hot and cold MCC units, enabling a site to achieve a professional, modular configuration that is adaptable to any front of house requirement.” – Tom van Bergen, Product Manager Food Displays at Fri-Jado
